Betty was a kind, generous, strong and selfless woman. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Per her request, her service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on June 16, 2016 at 2:30 PM. Betty was a kind, generous, strong and selfless woman. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Per her request, her service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on June 16, 2016 at 2:30 PM. Betty Margaret (Cranor) Shea was born on August 14, 1923 in Green River, WY. She peacefully passed away on June 3, 2016, at Brookdale Green Mountain Senior Living Center, where she had resided for over 2 yrs. She was a Denver area resident all of her life. She graduated in 1941 from North Denver High School. Betty married Dwight T. Shea Jr. in 1944. They raised 5 children; Susan (Jerry) Madden, Penny (Hatsel) Simpson and sons, Thomas (Roxanne), Ronald and Barry Shea. Dwight and Betty had 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of almost 67 yrs. and daughter, Susan.
She was employed by the State of Colorado, in both the Library and Public Works departments. Betty was a long time member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the St. Rita’s group at Holy Family Catholic Church in Denver. She loved needlework, quilting and crocheting. She created many items to donate to her church bazaar each year.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all who cared for her at Brookdale.
