In Loving Memory
Born:
March 8, 1925
Passed Away:
January 16, 2016

Chris F Summer Jr, 90, of Littleton, CO passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 16, 2016. His wife of 65 years, Betty Lenore Summer, preceded him in death in 2013. He is survived by his children, Rodney C Summer and Sandra N Summer-Daigle, daughter-in-law Faith Alderfer, son-in-law Robert J Daigle Jr. and granddaughters Kelly and Kristin Daigle.
Chris was born on the family farm in Manson IA to which he returned after his service in World War II. He was an Army paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division and deployed with replacements at the Battle of the Bulge. After his tour of duty, he worked in a steel mill in Pennsylvania building bridges for the Burma Road. It was in Pennsylvania that he met his wife Betty. They lived in Manson until he and his siblings moved to Goshen, IN in 1962.
With his quick mind, attention to detail, curiosity and strong work ethic, he worked a wide variety of jobs in engine repair, manufacturing, the RV industry, and construction. The most important thing to him was family, and he is remembered best for his love, interest, friendship and generosity with them. He and Betty followed their children to Colorado in 1979. They have resided with their son in Littleton since 1991, where they could attend the grandchildrens’ activities and family gatherings.
His variety of interests kept him in conversation with many young and old who crossed his path. He will be loved and missed by many who were able to capture a piece of that loving soul.
