I don’t know what tomorrow will bring – except old age and death – but I do know that I have today, one absolutely glorious day that I will savor and make the most of as if it were my last … because it may be!

Jerry was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago. Through the passing years there were many hospital visits and medications. As time passed we would eventually learn there would be nothing else that could be done to cure his cancer. Our family learned to accept his fate and cherish every moment together.
As time would pass and time was near we gathered together to talk to Jerry about what his wishes were and what he would want his obituary to say. As some of us cried and others in silence we looked at Jerry to see what he wanted it to say. Jerry the modest man he was said, “Tell them I was an alright guy”.
Anyone who knew Jerry knew he was more than just an alright guy. He loved to help people. If you needed a handy man, you would call Jerry. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, talking, laughing, playing dominoes, or 2 to 3 games of scrabble.
He was a great scrabble player. Always using words you thought he made up. We would challenge the word and of course, he was right. He enjoyed going to Central City and buying scratch lottery tickets.
The life he lived with Catherine Margaret was perfect in her eyes. He respected and cherished his family deeply. They enjoyed each others companionship for 30 years. Laughing and sharing in everything they did. The bond between them was amazing to see as you knew it was pure love.
He loved his “Maggie Mae”.
Jerry was asked what Heaven looked like and he replied “Heaven looks like my baby Zaiah”.
Jerry had a good life and will be missed very much.
Jerry we love you and you will never be forgotten.
We wish to express our appreciation for all of your prayers, kindness, support, and thoughts during this emotional time for our family.
We love you all and God Bless.
