Jerry Sisneros

September 30, 1941 :: Garcia, Colorado

I don’t know what tomorrow will bring – except old age and death – but I do know that I have today, one absolutely glorious day that I will savor and make the most of as if it were my last … because it may be!

Gary W. Fenchuk

On June 3, 2009, A beautiful soul passed to Heaven.

This compassionate and loving soul touched many lives and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Beloved son of Garcedan and Edith.

Survived by siblings: Rachel Hollinger (Ty), Irene Close, David Martinez, Larry Sisneros, Lorraine Ortiz.

Wonderful husband to Catherine Margaret (Maggie Mae).

Dedicated and loving father to Eugenia, Jerome (Annette), David (Damaris), Nicole (Gil), Jamie (Juan).

Beloved grandfather to Ruben (Dez), Melissa, Ashley, Noomis, Nick, JJ, Eric.

Great Grandfather to Ruben Jr, Elijah, Shanice, Wesley, Zaiah.

Loved by many nephew and nieces.

Preceeded in death, special long time friend Phyllis Sisneros.

Jerry was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago. Through the passing years there were many hospital visits and medications. As time passed we would eventually learn there would be nothing else that could be done to cure his cancer. Our family learned to accept his fate and cherish every moment together.

As time would pass and time was near we gathered together to talk to Jerry about what his wishes were and what he would want his obituary to say. As some of us cried and others in silence we looked at Jerry to see what he wanted it to say. Jerry the modest man he was said, “Tell them I was an alright guy”.

Anyone who knew Jerry knew he was more than just an alright guy. He loved to help people. If you needed a handy man, you would call Jerry. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, talking, laughing, playing dominoes, or 2 to 3 games of scrabble.

He was a great scrabble player. Always using words you thought he made up. We would challenge the word and of course, he was right. He enjoyed going to Central City and buying scratch lottery tickets.

The life he lived with Catherine Margaret was perfect in her eyes. He respected and cherished his family deeply. They enjoyed each others companionship for 30 years. Laughing and sharing in everything they did. The bond between them was amazing to see as you knew it was pure love.

He loved his “Maggie Mae”.

Jerry was asked what Heaven looked like and he replied “Heaven looks like my baby Zaiah”.

Jerry had a good life and will be missed very much.

Jerry we love you and you will never be forgotten.

We wish to express our appreciation for all of your prayers, kindness, support, and thoughts during this emotional time for our family.

We love you all and God Bless.

Jerry you will truly be missed. You were an Angel that came to my Aunt Margret and she was an Angel that came to you. You both made each other one. Your love for each other was seen by us all. My Aunt Margret will miss you everyday of her life but knows that you are watching over her from Heaven. You never complained of your illness and lived everyday with a “smile” knowing what was to come. If anything you taught us all is that life is short and we should live today like it our last and love each other to the fullest. Take care Jerry, thanks for being such a good husband and father to My Aunt Margret and Eugenia. And thanks for being such a great guy.

Jerry was a great guy, and still is in that wonderful beautiful heaven we know as our “true” home. He was always happy, I don’t recall ever seeing him him in any other mood. He was always helpful to my mother his “buddy” and “friend” as she called him. The vecina across the street. While he was able he was always there to help her after my dad lost his cancer battle, thank you for that Jerry! I told Jerry we would all miss him and we are sad to loose him, I also told him I knew he did not want to go, but his time was here. I told him I had only read of heaven in the beloved Bible, but he would soon see it, and when I asked him if he would watch over all of us here he said he would with a nod of his head. You will be missed and we are all sad, but we will see you again. God bless your beautiful family.
