Joseph Michael Spelic, Jr. 6/10/31 – 9/14/08

Joseph Michael Spelic Jr., 77, died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the VA Nursing Center in Denver, Colorado. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Sept. 18 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Denver. Burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

Joseph was born in Creighton, Nebraska, June 10, 1931 to Claire and Joseph Spelic Sr. He graduated from Omaha Central in 1949. He enlisted in the Army from 1951-1954. He married Patricia A. Koenig on October 8, 1955 at St. Michael’s Church in Spalding. Joseph was a life long member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons: William J. (Denise) Spelic of Broomfield CO, Christopher M. (Kim) Spelic of Littleton, CO, Joseph M. III (Nancy) of Aurora, CO and two daughters, Diane Holmes (Mike) of Bellevue, WA and Amy Mulholland (Tom) of Denver, Co; two sisters, Irene Dohn of Omaha, Ne. and Betty Scribner of Littleton, Co, and one brother, Stephen Spelic of Omaha, Ne. Additional survivors include thirteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary Claire Guiton and JoAnn Dow; and one infant brother Thomas.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to Durham Booth Manor, 923 No. 38th St., Omaha, NE 68131 or Catholic Charities.
