Mike H. Sayka

Passed Away:
June 30, 2008

Served in the U.S. Army for 21 years. He retired as a Platoon Sergeant (E-7) in 1963. Before entering the Army Mike traveled the country by train. While serving in the Army he met his wife of over 50 years, Elizabeth a German Red Cross Nurse. Elizabeth passed away April 16th 2007. Both will be missed dearly.

Before Elizabeth’s passing she and Mike were inseparable. The last year of his life he missed Elizabeth very much. He regarded his wives family as his family. Much of his free time was spent fishing at Gross Reservoir, Barr Lake and the Ponds. Once a year he would travel to Red Feathers lake and stay overnight in his station wagon and make coffee over an open fire. He loved the outdoors.

Since his wives passing Mike spent much of his time with daughter Doreen and Granddaughter Gabriella, fishing, shopping and taking long walks at Webster lake. Mike is survived by his daughters Eva (David) Leep, Doreen (Tony) Rivera, also granddaughter Gabriella and grandson Derek, along with many nieces and nephews throughout the U.S. We will all miss them both very much.
