Oscar Selzer

June 9, 1924 :: Chicago, IL
Passed Away:
May 4, 2009 :: Littleton, CO

Oscar passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on May 4, 2009. He is survived by his loving family – wife of 64 years, Dorothy, 3 children (Larry, Sandy and Gary), 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brother Bob – and will also be greatly missed by his many friends.

Oscar was born in Chicago on June 9, 1924. He proudly served in the Army during WW II in both France and Germany. He and “Dot” moved to Littleton in 1955 and raised their family here. Oscar was an active member of his congregation and found great strength and comfort in his faith. He believed strongly that service to God went hand in hand with service to his fellow man. And he was, above all, a “family man”, cherishing the shared time together and finding great joy in their accomplishments. Oscar’s generous, kind, loving spirit will be remembered by all those who knew him. Memories of his wonderful sense of humor, mischievous nature, and ability to enjoy every day will continue to amuse and inspire us.

A Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 16 at 11:00 AM at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1701 W. Caley Ave., Littleton with a luncheon to follow. Contributions may be made in his memory to Ascension Lutheran Church.
