Paul Machier passed away on August 2, 2015 in Arvada Colorado. He was born on March 28, 1936 in Torrington, CT. Paul is survived by his wife Carol Machier, sister Irene Machier, children Kim (Jim) Carman, and Joe (Kris) Machier, grandchildren Adam Cecil, Katie Machier, and Jordan Machier, God children Annika, Xavier, and Zele, who are the children of Maro and Kari Paz.
After graduating High School, Paul enlisted into the Air Force and spent some time in Europe, mostly France as a radio operator. When he finished his four year commitment, he came back to the states and married Carol and they then started a family. Paul and Carol have lived in Arvada for more than 50 years with Paul working at Coors and Carol working as a successful cosmetologist.
Paul loved gold panning, he then got the “gold fever” in the late 70’s and spent most of his summer weekends at Vic’s Gold Panning in BlackHawk, CO. He loved the mountains and camping as we spent many family vacations in Glenwood Springs, Moab, Arizona and other surrounding states. For many years he was an assistant coach for his son’s hockey team at the Arvada Hockey Association and was respected by his players as well as by their families.
Paul was an avid pistol shooter, he was a longtime member of the Arvada Gun Club where he competitively shot and has many awards to prove his skill, at one time he also served on the board of directors. Paul retired from Coors Porcelein in the early 2000’s and since then he had spent most of his time with his family. Paul loved his family more than ever, he adored his wife Carol, spoiled his children and even more, he spoiled his grand children. Everyone that Paul met instantly liked him, he was charismatic, friendly and fair. With his family, he was loving, caring, yet strict and we adored him.
