A Catholic Mass will be held Wednesday July 25 at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 11:15 am. (with open casket viewing starting at 10:15 am). There will then be a procession to Fort Logan Cemetery: 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver for a Military Service at 1:00 pm.

Luncheon will follow at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Lakewood, Colorado.

Robert (Bob) Koenig was born in Cody, Wyoming on August 22, 1947. Bob served in the Navy from 1965-1969. About 30 years of Bob’s work career was with the Mine Safety and Health Administration as a Mine Inspector. Bob was inducted into the Mine Safety Hall of Fame in August 2002.

Bob also volunteered for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department from 1972 to 1977. Some of Bob’s passions were gardening, golfing, fishing, camping and traveling. Hawaii and Alaska were at the top of the list.

Bob and Ruth were married for 49 years. They moved to Lakewood, Colorado right after they were married in 1969.

Preceded in death by Arnold and Lora Mae Koenig.

Bob is survived by his wife, Ruth, his sisters, Pam (Stan) Johnson and Lori (Van) Moreau and a large Schurman family.

    Ruth I am so sorry that you have lost Bobby. Your life is forever changed. My heart goes out to you. The shoes you are now walking in are not easy ones to walk in.
