Robert “Bob” Swope, 82, passed away August 16, 2016. He was born on December 24, 1933 in Robertsdale, Pennsylvania to the late Delbert Swope and Winfred Fick Swope. He was the husband to the late Joyce Swope. He is survived by 6 brothers (Walter Swope, John Swope, Chester Swope, and 2 deceased, Delbert Swope JR and William Swope), 2 sisters (Alice Fischer and Ada Miller), 4 daughters (Linda Dwebi, Deborah Robbins, Kimberly Tcheng, and Allison Swope), 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He served 21 years in the United States Air Force, earning a military honor of United States Air Force Honor Guard, as well as, a Vietnam War Veteran.

Bob loved to play Bingo on his spare time with his friends and was a huge sports fan, Pittsburgh Steelers being his favorite. In his early days, he loved traveling back to Pennsylvania to visit his family and he enjoyed going to the car races.

Bob was a very hard working, tough loving man, with a huge heart. He was a devoted husband to his wife for 59 years and a father that always had open arms to his 4 daughters. Bob, known as Pappy to his grandchildren/great-grandchildren, would always pick on the kids but they all knew it was just “Pappy’s” type of love.

Robert “Bob” Swope will be greatly missed for his loving, ornery ways of making someone smile.

To my Dad my hero.. I love you with all of my heart and soul…, To all of our good times together from races to my girls to my grandchild Kason. These past 8 months have been extremely hard on you and me as well, seeing you sick and not knowing how to help you but to pray that you’ll continue to fight as hard and as long as you can. I know your at peace now and not suffering not suffering of pain. May you open your arms to Mom again in heaven and live your 2nd life with her. To love and to hold and enjoy your time together as you were young again and so much in love. I will remember you everyday when I look at your picture of you or just of mom and especially you and mom together.
Thank you for all that you’ve done not only for me but Kaylynn and Mariah as well. I’ll give you my promise that your little buddy Kason will not forget you either.
