Aloha Marilyn, I’m so sorry to hear of your husband’s passing. I was a F/A hired in 1969, and Bob was one of our favorite pilots. He was always kind to everyone and a pleasure to fly with. My late husband Jim Davis flew with Bob as a co-pilot interisland and thought very highly of Bob too. My best to you and your family. aloha Aileen

Farewell to a great pilot and a good man. “Let’s get out of this plane” What I remember Bob saying at the end of the day. Then he would add and go home.

  3. Geoff Avery says:

Bob was one of my favorite guys at Hawaiian. He was the perfect picture of a grizzled, competent aviator…and always brought doughnuts for the crew! He helped check me out as a Captain (a Herculean task…)…I hope he enjoyed it as much as I did. All the best…

  4. J. T. Miller says:

Please accept my condolences on the loss of Bob. We both came to fly in Hawaii at the same time, and I had the pleasure of his company for many years until retirement. He was a prince of a guy, always pleasant and in good humor, and completely unflappable. Gos’s speed, Bob Shuey . . . Joe

  5. Clay Higbee says:

Marilyn & family, Sad to learn of Bob’s passing. He was quite a gentleman while not fearing “telling it like it is”. We served together at HAL as DC9 check airmen.
