Mr. Wendel Glenn Kent, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on September 26, 2013 at age 81.

Wendel was born in Golden City, Missouri on October 27, 1931 to parents Charles Raymond and Beulah Bessie Kent. He grew up on their farm in the small community and then proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Wendel graduated from the University of Missouri in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. In April 1958, Wendel and Shirley Ann Edwards were married in Columbia, Missouri. Wendel and Ann had four children and he especially enjoyed his time spent with his six grandchildren (becoming a grandfather at the age of 73).

Wendel began his career in Real Estate in the early 1960’s selling homes in the Kansas City area then moved his family to Castle Rock, Colorado. There he became a Real Estate Broker and began developing real estate in Colorado, Mexico and Belize. He founded The Colorado Land Company & other companies. Wendel had a passion for developing, buying and selling real estate and for flying single-engine aircraft. He founded the Mountain West Flying Club in south Denver.

Wendel is survived by former spouse Shirley Ann Kent of Fremont, CA; son Mark Kent (Kim) of Fort Collins, CO; son Brad Kent of Littleton, CO; son Patrick Kent (Andra) of Irvine, CA; daughter Anne Marie Wickstrom (James) of Pleasant Hill, CA; and grandchildren, Evan and Ella Kent; Gracie Schweizer and Aidan Kent; and Owen and Ivy Wickstrom.

He is also survived by his brother Howard Kent (Linda) of Richardson, TX and nieces Kathy Crouch of Richardson, TX and Nancy Townsend of Cedar Park, TX.

Wendel will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the following for their wonderful care and support during Wendel’s illness: The Hospice caregivers, Norma Currie, Mike & Teri Donadic, and Russ & Linda Tomky.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 4:00 p.m, New Life Church Colorado Springs.
